It’s coming to the time when the end content – Dragon Soul – is more accessible now with people gearing up through the HCs and LFR.
Whilst we generally have 2 or 3 groups going through, it might be that from time to time we ask someone to step down for a week to allow another to take their place. It might have something to do with like-for-like DPS or to balance a group (if we have too many of one class) – with the light to having a place in the next week’s group – or possibly getting an extra group containing some alts to run as many bosses as possible.
This won’t be aimed at anyone personally, but Brighty, Bogs and I would be grateful if people could not take this as a personal offence (!) and sign up for the raids if you will definitely be able to attend. What we will do is try and ‘confirm’ places ASAP to ensure that you know if you have a place reserved on the raid or class you as ‘stand by’ if we will be asking you to take a step back for a week. This means that if someone doesn’t show up, we can offer you a place, but otherwise you will get a confirmed spot the week after.
Please do remember that DS might be more accessible, but it still is End Game content and as such, standards can’t be dropped on tanking, healing or damage abilities. These fights are complicated and there are still DPS races on some bosses. If you’re not at a level where you can really deal the damage/heals etc that the group needs, please sign up for the LFR on Wednesday nights where we try to get gear for guildies to get you to the right standard. The groups may also be trying some bosses on HC from time to time which obviously makes them more difficult – and more important that people are doing what they’re supposed to do – for these raids led by me, TS will be mandatory!
If you do get confirmed for a raid, and you either don’t show up, are unprepared (no flasks, food etc) or are late, your place will be given to someone else and you may not get a confirmed spot on the next week. We are a large guild, and whilst it has many benefits (people to group with, guild repairs, conversation, items from the bank and of course the opportunity to laugh at Brighty), it also means that at this time in an expansion the raids are oversubscribed and it is nice to give people the opportunity to enjoy raiding in the laid back and fun atmosphere that we try to achieve.

And the winner is.......
Well, he's pictured above - Crow - which is fitting, seeing as he was the inspiration behind the competition:)
2nd Place - Mud
3rd - Tezz
I asked 7 'random' guildies to rate their 3rd best and allocated 3 points for 1st, 2 for 2nd and 1 for 3rd. After adding them all up, there was only a narrow margin between the top three, and then the last three places were also closely contended.
Thanks to all that took part - and I'm sure there'll be another silly competition on here soon!

Looks like everyone that started playing World of Warcraft in Vanilla has now been sent a Beta invite, and they have now started sending the invitations out to those that began this epic journey with their first steps through the Dark Portal.
With 550,000 beta invites sent out so far it is only a matter of a couple of weeks before the reported 1 million plus annual holders all have their invites.
I myself won’t be entering the beta so that when the release of MOP finally hits I get to enjoy it in its full glory, but I know many can’t want just to get a taste.

Well, it might not be the quickest Deathwing Kill, but it was certainly well deserved. After some 3% and 2% wipes over recent tries, it really was just a matter of everyone doing their job perfectly...
With Anihilator and Mike tanking, Balay, Zallis, Mud, Al and Moody DPS and Nadderina, Lilsh and me healing.
A perfect attempt with a perfect result....and those that have been in the guild since the Naxx days may be surprised to know that Balay's helm nightmare is finally over! Moody generously disregarded her roll and passed the token to Balay so he could replace his low level helm - and helped him forget the 50 or so that he's lost on rolls in the past...although if I was going to be picky, I would point out that he still didn't actually 'win' it:P
Really good job all - and I'm looking forward to the guild achievement spamming on Boglin's next run:)

The extra sunlight may well be affecting my generosity - time to make the most of it.
Crow has been fighing his bordom by creating AOoW banners in strange places - from Ice Fishing to work.
In light of this, I want the most RANDOM, COOL or just FUNNY photos of AOoW (as above) by 1st April where a LARGE prize will be given for the best, with rather nice prizes for the runners up.
So - get your children, pets, household appliances spelling and let's see what the funniest AOoW can be!
(and yes, I do know that this is rather an odd request, but /shrugs)

So...Balay has finally got the branch of Nordrassil and we're on our way towards the Legendary!
A night devoted to getting the quest items before wiping and then through the portal to get the additional boss.
Got a few weeks to go, and some hard work ahead, but we're on our way!
Big thanks to Aluona for creating the event & Muddy, Bogs, Anihilator, Selei, Holypowr, Zallis and Twonky (although he got lost before the end). Balay of course was there too...and I waved my arms around a little too.
Good work!

Its only taken a year or so, but Al has finally got his tiny little warglaives - perfectly suited for a Gnome.....
Grats Al!

While there are many of us enjoying the splendor that the 64-bit WoW client brings us, the upcoming patch 4.3.3 (which is likely to hit this week) will break this client. The 32-bit client will still work, however, and for the time being, everyone will need to use that.
Furthermore, if you are running the 64-bit client, according to Blizzard you need to delete the following files in order for the patch to work properly:
As detailed on http://us.battle.net/support/en/article/64bit-client-prevents-patching-to-433

So...the word is that the MoP public Beta will be opening next month (although the reliability of my source is questionable, to say the least)...
Who has the Annual Pass and will be in the Beta when it finally lands?
